The very concept of dynamometer is always attached with technology. Therefore it appears a little bit of tough for those who do not have any idea about it. So if a person wants to know about the ins and outs about the main principles of dynamometer operation, he needs to collate some basic information about it.

Actually there is a basic difference between a dynamometer and a voltmeter. True, both of them are measuring tools and both have to execute some functions in their own arena. If one can understand this, it will be easy for him to grab the other information easily and more accurately. Unlike the voltmeter a dynamometer is consisted with a pliable ring made of metal, which uses to bend whenever something tried to bend it. Its bending condition depends on the force that will be applied on it.

Setting up an engine would be incomplete with out using any automotive Dynamometer. The proper function of an engine is largely dependent on the function of a dynamometer. Therefore it has become imperative to have a dynamometer with a new motor to enhance its functionality. Adding up a gas analyzer with a dynamometer would be a perfect idea as this will achieve one to get a better result. This addiction will help one immensely to enhance the capability.

Transmission Dynamometers and absorption dynamometers are variant form of Power-measuring dynamometers. This kind of dynamometer uses a device that is largely dependent on the concept of measuring torque. A flexible or a special kind of torque meter is generally infixed in the shaft. Actually the burden which a motor or machine is carrying, is responsible for producing a torque.

The torque produced by a transmission dynamometer is starkly different from a torque that is produced by absorption dynamometers. Absorption dynamometers produced that torque by using fluid friction, electromagnetic induction or mechanical friction.

Using the break blocks can do developing a mechanical friction on the edges of revolving pulley. Then the break blocks are compressed against the wheels by fastening the bolts. This action continued until the friction torque FR balances. A water break uses another system. It develops resistance by the help of the rover flow. This water flow has been circulated between a stationary shell and a rotating impeller. At that particular time, the dynamometer produces direct current electricity, which is also known as the eddy current.

The concept of Torque is important enough to be clarified. Actually it is the direct result of the load of the spring or weight. Its distance from the axis of rotation is also responsible for determining the torque. Actually Dynamometers are used to calculate the production of torque by an engine. This information is needed to determine the overall performance of an engine.

All the information related to this issue is demonstrated on a graph, which can be interpreted easily. By using this graph the engineers decipher the essential information that they need to find out by using the dynamometer.

Culture of creativity features at Furnal Equinox 2018

Sunday, March 25, 2018

Visual art, fabric art, photography, performance, dance, virtual reality, and music were all the subject of sessions at Furnal Equinox 2018, a conference held from March 16 to 18 at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle. Canada’s largest furry convention by attendance, the annual event offers dozens of subculture-specific programs.

The convention’s communications and public relations coordinator for the event, Ronnie, describes furries as “people that enjoy arts and culture centred around animals and animal-themed topics, essentially. Furnal Equinox in particular, we like to celebrate in a very visual and very […] artistic nature, where we have lots of arts and performances and crafts that go on, and people celebrate with lots of socialisation involved.”

Of the attendees, Ronnie told Wikinews “they come from all walks of life. They are people of all ages, sizes, all sorts of backgrounds, and they come together under one mutual interest, which is their love for animal culture.”

“Programming at Furnal Equinox involves[…] a lot of informational panels, so you can find out about topics from art and how to draw, or how to visually incorporate different elements into your artworks. You can also find panels that teach you how to write better, be a better fiction author for example,” explained the event representative.

At one panel Wikinews attended, members of its all-volunteer organising committee spoke of the year-long process of planning the event, and their reasons for committing such a significant amount of their time. Said one panelist, “if you’re happy, we’re happy.”

The largest hub of activity at the convention was a dealer’s room; nicknamed the “Dealer’s Den”, giving it an anthropomorphic twist. Vendors were selling original visual art, wearables like faux fur tails or ears, or things like jewellery or soap with motifs that would interest attendees.

The back area of the room was dedicated to a charity auction, with proceeds benefiting Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary. According to the convention website, the charity is “dedicated to rescuing abused, neglected, and abandoned farmed animals. Their goal is to provide a safe, life-long home for all of their residents, and to educate the public about the true nature of farmed animals through tours, volunteer programs, and community outreach.”

Split into groups, some attendees played “Fursuit Games” in front of an audience, like trying to toss a ball into a garbage can. The activity made harder, of course, by the limited dexterity and vision the most of the costumes entail.

Apple introduces iPhone and Apple TV

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

Apple Inc. today has introduced the much-anticipated iPhone at the Macworld Conference in San Francisco.

The iPhone is claimed to be “a revolutionary mobile phone” as stated on the Apple website. The device appears to be running a mobile version of the Apple operating system Mac OSX. It is approximately the same size as a 5th generation iPod, it has a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display that is used to access all features of the phone including number dial, as well as making phone calls. The iPhone plays music, movies, displays pictures and is able to connect to a wireless network.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the device by walking onto the stage and taking the iPhone out of his jeans pocket. During his 2 hour speech he stated that “Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone, We are going to make history today”.

Today Apple also released their Media Center device – Apple TV. It will directly compete with Microsoft’s Media Center operating system. Apple has taken a different approach to the media center market; rather than storing content (such as movies, music and photos) on the device, Apple TV connects to a computer (Mac and Windows) over a wirless network connection and plays all content stored on that computer. This makes it substantially easier for users to organize their media content.

With today’s technology and advances in steam equipment it is very easy, simple and safe to use steam for ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MN. However, just any steam won’t work, it has to be applied to the ice and show using low pressure and wet steam to have the greatest melting potential.

Low Pressure for Roof Safety

There are some companies that use high pressure options for ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MN. They tend to use a very wet steam, almost a liquid that is forced into the ice and snow at high pressure levels. The problem with this is the same as using any type of very high pressure cleaning equipment, it will damage surfaces.

High pressure steam cleaners are particularly damaging to asphalt shingles. Those little pebbles that help to protect the single and allow water and snow to slide off the shingles are removed under high pressure, gradually damaging your roof.

On the other hand low pressure ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MN provides the same volume of wet steam for maximum melting without the risk of any damage.

The Speed Factor

By using the low pressure, wet steam for ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MNprofessional companies are actually able to melt the ice faster than just using hot air alone.

The service will always start the process from the bottom or underside of the ice dam up, allowing the melted ice and snow to safely run off the roof as it would naturally. Sometimes inexperienced services offering ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MN approach the job incorrectly and find that it takes much longer as they have to keep reworking areas as they move down and along the roof.

Additionally, by using low pressure wet steam for ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MN the company limits the amount of additional water that is put onto your roof. Remember that all of that water has to come off the roof and reducing the additional moisture helps reduce ice below the roof on walkways, landscaping and on your trees and shrubs.

Having professional services come in for your ice dam removal in Minneapolis, MN really is the best possible option. They avoid damage and get the job done quickly and effectively.

India discontinues ?500, ?1000 denominations; releases ?2000 and new ?500 bills

Monday, November 14, 2016

On Wednesday, India demonetised ?500 (about US$7.50) and ?1000 notes, announced as a measure to fight corruption, fake notes, and black money. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian citizens late Tuesday, and said 500 and 1000 rupee notes would cease to be legal tender at midnight.

To minimise possible difficulties to citizens, transactions using old 500 and 1000 rupee notes were accepted at government hospitals, railway ticket bookings, government buses, and airports. The notes were also accepted at public-sector petrol-pumps, government-authorised consumer co-operative stores, milk booths authorised by State governments, and cremation grounds till Friday midnight. These shops were obliged to have a record of their stocks and sales.

In his announcement, Modi said, “For your immediate needs, you can go to any bank, head post office or sub post office, show your identity proof like Aadhar card, voter’s card, ration card, passport, income tax PAN card number or other approved proofs and exchange your old 500 or thousand rupee notes for new notes.” ((hi))Hindi language: ??????? ???????? ?? ??? ???? ?? ?? ?? ???? ?? ?????? ????? ?? ??? ??? ?????? ????? ?? ??? ?? ????? ?? ??? ?????? ?? ?? ???? ?? ???? ?? ?????? ?? ?? ??? ?? ?? ?????? ?? ???? ????? ????, ???? ??, ???? ?????, ?????? ?????, ???? ?????, ????????, ???? ????? ??? ????? ??????? ???? ?? ??? ??? ??? ???? ?? ??? ??? ???? ???

Modi also announced those who failed to change their currency till December 30 can exchange the notes at Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s office along with a declaration form till March 31. The notes can be exchanged till December 30 at any branch of any bank across India.

By Saturday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said demonetised money equivalent to almost US$30 billion was deposited in banks across India. According to estimate, the old notes accounted for 85% of the total money in circulation. New 500 rupee and 2000 rupee notes are to be issued. Modi said RBI would exercise caution from past experience and limit the circulation of large-value notes.

International tourists could purchase up to 5000 rupees using the old notes at airport exchanges till Friday.

A limit was imposed on cash withdrawal; a maximum of 10000 rupees each day, and 20000 rupees each week, can be withdrawn. Moreover, from Thursday (November 10) till November 24, 4000 rupees can be exchanged in the banks and post offices. The amount is credited to the bank account.

Government workers were informed about demonetising when the announcement was made. Modi announced all banks would remain closed for public work on Wednesday.

In the United States, Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election on Tuesday, immediately after which stock markets dropped globally. Following the US election and demonetising the money, the Indian stock market fell by 1700 points on Wednesday. Sensex lost 1,688.69 points and Nifty lost 111.55 points on the same day. Indian technology sector companies experienced loss. TCS suffered 4.93% loss and Infosys lost 2.74%.

The Indian rupee is also used in the neighbouring countries of Bhutan and Nepal. The border area uses Indian currency for day-to-day transactions. The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan (RMA) has announced the exchange of old notes will be facilitated till December 15. RMA governor Dasho Penjore informed Indian news site The Wire, “We do not know exactly how much Indian currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 is in circulation in Bhutan. We will get a better idea after the deadline to deposit their amount”. RMA has 30% of its international exchange reserve in Indian rupees. Nepal Rastra Bank directed all Nepali banks to stop conducting transactions using the Indian rupee.

On Thursday, there were long queues in front of ATMs and banks to exchange the old notes and withdraw money. BBC reported some banks ran out of cash. Police were called to some banks to maintain discipline. Banks were open on Saturday and Sunday for money exchange.

Shops did not accept the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes. Some emphasised cash-less transaction as well. BBC reported some traders and small business owners in Delhi threatened to call a strike as this move affected their business.

eRetail websites like Amazon and Flipkart announced they would not accept the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes on Cash on Delivery orders. Amazon also announced 15% discount on gift cards worth 500 or 1000 rupees.

The government ceased all transactions using the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes before Saturday. But a Wikinews correspondent noticed a jeweler shop accepting the demonetised notes on Saturday. When questioned, the jeweler said they were accepting the old notes only on purchase. When the correspondent, who did not identify as a reporter to the shop owners, said the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes were not legal money, they said they will exchange the notes in a bank since there were 50 days to exchange with a new and legal tender. They refused to exchange old 500 rupee notes with change, asserting the customer needs to buy merchandise from their shop.

Australian opposition expected to release workplace plan

Thursday, May 18, 2006

Australian opposition leader Kim Beazley is expected to release his workplace plan when he will speak to a union delegate meeting in Sydney today.

At the meeting today, there will be delegates from the Construction Forestry Mining Energy Union (CFMEU), Energy Union, Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMFU) and Australian Workers Union (AWU).

Under the plan, employers will be prevented from employing overseas migrants for 12 months after sacking Australian workers from the same job.

In a statement, Andrew Ferguson, CFMEU’s NSW Secretary said that his union is contacted regularly after Australian workers are sacked for less expensive overseas labor. “There is not a day that goes by that people don’t contact the union looking for help finding a job because employers are importing cheap labour rather than investing in Australian workers”.

Mr Ferguson welcomed the opposition’s incentives. “Kim Beazley’s proposal is a welcome step forward in rectifying the short-sighted policies of a government that has completely failed to look out for the interests of working Australians.”

South Korean police clamp down on protests against US beef
Posted by Admin , No Comments

Monday, June 30, 2008

South Korean authorities are refusing to allow more protests against the government’s decision to allow beef imports from the United States, after hundreds of people were injured in clashes with riot police overnight Saturday.

Around 300 police buses blocked protesters from entering the plaza in front of Seoul City Hall on Sunday, where a candlelight vigil was scheduled for that night. Any rally held after sunset without police permission is considered illegal. Nevertheless, the daily vigils have continued for weeks, with as many as 80,000 in attendance.

After the plaza was sealed off, a group of about 1,700 protesters gathered in nearby streets, chanting slogans that urged President Lee Myung-Bak to cancel his decision allowing U.S. beef imports. Around 70 people were detained by police for illegally occupying roads, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, but no major clashes occurred.

Over 200 protesters and police officers were injured in Saturday’s protests. The demonstration turned violent when some protesters tried to drag away police buses used to prevent entry into Cheongwadae, the President’s house. Riot police responded by spraying water cannons and fire extinguishers at the protesters, who threw stones, water bottles and eggs at police.

The candle-lit vigils, which were initially peaceful, have mutated into violent protests organized by a small faction.

Government officials said they would not tolerate violent, illegal demonstrations. “The candle-lit vigils, which were initially peaceful, have mutated into violent protests organized by a small faction,” said Justice Minister Kim Kyung Han. He vowed to “chase those who instigate violent protests” and “bring them to justice”. Kim warned that the government might begin using water laced with tear gas against protesters, even though tear gas has been banned since 1999.

In April, President Lee Myung-Bak agreed to resume the importing of U.S. beef, which was banned in 2003 after the United States discovered its first case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or mad cow disease. Lee has faced a major backlash from this decision, amid fears of the possible spread of this sometimes fatal disease. He was forced to publicly apologize, and all but one of his top advisers were fired.

Jang Dae-hyun, a spokesman for the protesters, suggested that the police should stop using harsh tactics against protesters, which he says would lead to less violence. “We’ve been supporting peaceful rallies, but the police crackdown is too harsh,” Jang said. One protester, Kim In-seok, stated, “We are just here to express our opinions. I can’t understand why this government tries to ban our rally.”

On Monday, police raided the offices of two civic groups that have led the rallies. Documents, computers, pickets, flags, and other materials relating to the demonstrations were confiscated, and the leader of the group AntiMadCow was arrested on charges of staging illegal rallies, Yonhap reported.

An Air Conditioning Replacement In Palm Harbor Can Be Made With The Assistance Of Skilled Engineers

February, 2014 byAlma Abell

If your air conditioning system is older than 10 years it is not running as efficiently as you need it to be. It also uses more energy than the newer models and probably does not have an energy saving thermostat system. Buying a new air conditioning system requires the homeowner to know what kind of unit their home requires, and you can help with this.

Many advances have been made in the technology of air conditioning systems to filter the air in a home, control humidity and assist with helping minimize the effect of other health problems. Companies that sell air conditioners have engineers who can come out to your home and make an engineering recommendation on what unit you should buy.

These are skilled and trained technicians who check your vent system for air handling capability, and they will calculate the best energy saving unit for your home. They will study the position your home sets on the lot, and the home’s insulation. The engineer will recommend the most energy efficient unit for your air distribution needs. He will also run a load calculation on your home to help recommend the size of the unit which would best serve your needs.

Every unit is now Energy Star rated which is an energy efficiency rating. The higher the efficiency rating, the greater the energy savings will be. The Air conditioning replacement in Palm Harbor has technicians and engineers to help you select the most efficient unit. The energy rating is measured as a SEER rating of 13 or above. Using the proper SEER rating is important because too low will not cool properly and too high is also not effective.

The new system will create more comfort in your home for less energy costs, and you can control the operation of the system to work on a schedule that reduces the cooling when you are not at home. Air conditioning replacement in Palm Harbor has technicians who can ensure the air flow will be improved and the cooling will be better with a system which has been designed for your home. Saving energy is important and when you can achieve better cooling while reducing your energy bill you will have made a significant difference in the quality of life in your home. Airprompt Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. can help you with a system which is perfect for you.
